Joan H. (Aho) Eskew, 83, of Alexandria, died August 22, 2020 after an extended illness.
She was born on March 2, 1937, in Marquette, Michigan, the daughter of Walter and Margaret (Williams) Aho.
She was a homemaker. She loved lighthouses. She also sold Avon for 10 years. She was a huge Jimmie Johnson racing fan. She got great joy from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Shayne A. (Theresa) Eskew of Scottville, MI and Cheryl D. Schuyler of Alexandria; four grandchildren, Jackie (Matthew) Cox of Alma, MI; Brad Eskew of Scottville, MI; Adam (Natalie) Schuyler of Muncie and Ashley (Christopher) Box of Yorktown; four great-grandchildren, Brian Walker, Melanie Schuyler, A. J. Schuyler and Annabelle Box; sister, Lois Hoppe of Davie, Florida; brother, Walter P. (Margaret) Aho of Gladstone, Michigan; eight nephews and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jack Eskew who died on April 3, 2011; her parents, two sisters, Mary Ann Johnson and Carol Slone; two nephews, Rick Hoppe and Jason Slone.
Graveside services will be held 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at East Maplewood Cemetery with Kent Stookey officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
