Bernard Atkins of Revere peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 20th, 2020 at the age of 92. Bernie met Evelyn (Lintz) Atkins, the love of his life, on Revere Beach. After they married, they spent the next 66 years devoted to one another. Bernie was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was born in Cambridge, MA to the late Sarah (Resnic) Atkins and Harry Atkins. Bernie was a graduate of Chelsea High School and Vesper George School of Art in Boston. He was a WWII Veteran, having served in the United States Army in the Philippines. He worked as a draftsman and electrical engineer at the Boston Shipyard and later the Department of Defense. He was an active member of the Shriners, loved animals and enjoyed stamp and coin collecting. Family activities gave Bernie the most pleasure especially filming special family events. His last year was spent at Ledgewood Bay in Milford, NH with is beloved wife Evelyn (Evy). He was well loved by everyone who met him for his humor and quite intelligence. Bernie will be greatly missed by all who knew him especially his devoted family. Bernie is survived by his wife Evy, father of Mark and wife Ridette Atkins, Miryom Noviski, Debbie and husband LeRoy Marshall, grandfather of Bukkiah Golden, Ben Golden, Ashley Atkins, Courtney Furman, Brianna Atkins, Matthew Atkins, and Lindsey Atkins. Great-grandfather of MacKenzie, Isaiah, Elijah, Miracle, Simone, Zahra, Jo, Lydia, Naimorris, Ben and Bella. A private graveside service will be held at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery, Sharon, MA.
