Gjergji Kristo, 72, of Worcester died Sunday, August 16th at home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 43 years, Natasha (Shahinasi) Kristo; A son, Jonel Kristo and his wife, Orieta of Worcester; a daughter, Aida Kristo and her husband, Elton Cerma) of Wethersfield, CT; his siblings, Ilo Kristo, Stravri Kristo and Lonora Gjoka; and four grandchildren.
He was born in Albania the son of Koco and Thomaida Kristo. Gjergji worked in the kitchen at UMASS Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus for over 10 years, retiring in 2018. His favorite pastime was traveling with his wife, Natasha. Some of their favorite places were Albania, the Dominican Republic, Bahamas and Las Vegas. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and cooking.
A graveside service is Wednesday, August 19th at 10:30 AM in Hope Cemetery, Section 98E. Calling hours are Tuesday, August 18th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Social Distancing and the use of face masks that cover the nose and mouth will be part of the protocol at all of Gjergji’s services.
