Michael Gordon McHugh, age 75, of passed away peacefully with family by his side at his home in North Reading, August 12, 2020, following a long battle with Multiple System Atrophy. Born in Woburn, Michael was one of ten children of the late Arthur J. and Ann (Popoloski) McHugh.
Mike was an antique automotive enthusiast. He loved old cars and trucks in any condition. His favorite car was the iconic American 1940 Ford Coupe. Michael owned multiple 1940 Ford cars and trucks, and had a collection of antique car parts to build more! He loved attending car shows and swap meets where he would buy and sell 1940 Ford parts. He also loved stockcar racing and long rides in the car to seek out old antique cars.
He is survived by his partner Laura McHugh of North Reading, MA. His loving daughter Melissa McHugh and grandson Joshua Michael McHugh of Orlando, FL, and his son and best of friend Michael Arthur McHugh of Concord. He was the brother of Peter, Larry and Anne McHugh, Leona Innamorati, Marie Erickson, Mary Collins, Lorraine Cargill, Paula Friend and the late Arthur "Harpo" McHugh. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, on Friday, August 21st, from 4 to 8 p.m. All attending must wear a face mask an adhere to strict social distancing protocols. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions to the Multiple Systems Atrophy Coalition would be greatly appreciated.
