Eleanor L. (Ouellette) Schofield, 93, of Westport passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at Southpointe Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center, Fall River. She was wife of the late Andrew G. Schofield.
Born in Fall River, she was daughter of the late Edward and Nellie W. (Smithies) Ouellette. Eleanor was a career woman who spent forty years in the office products business as a sales associate, first at R.A. Wilcox and later at Smith Office Equipment, where she was considered indispensable until her retirement. During her retirement years Eleanor kept busy maintaining her large vegetable garden, perfecting her favorite dessert recipes, and traveling with Andy, her husband of thirty four years. She was an animal lover who enjoyed caring for her cats and always kept her bird feeders full. She always appreciated her neighbors and tried to be a good neighbor herself. She could be counted on to have an opinion and be direct. Her forthright manner and friendly smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Eleanor leaves her devoted niece, Denise Wordell, two nieces, two nephews, many grandnieces and nephews, two step children, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was sister of the late Edward Ouellette, Robert Ouellette and Kay Scherzinger.
Services will be private.
