Robert (Papa) Wagner (68) of Gilmanton, New Hampshire died August 14th at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Rita (McCarthy) Wagner.
He was born in Boston, son of the late Raymond Wagner and Shirley (Eisner) Wagner. Robert was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Marine Corps and was a member of the Jarheads Motorcycle Club. He worked as a truck driver for 24 years and owned and operated Newport Motel in New Hampshire for 12 years before retiring. Robert was an avid motorcycle rider, enjoyed framing and matting pictures and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Carol Wagner of Brockton, a son Robert Wagner of Brockton, 2 brothers, Raymond Wagner of Taunton and Alan Wagner of Pennsylvania, 2 sisters, Janet Wagner of Pennsylvania and Ann McGeary of Georgia, 2 grandchildren, Dylan and Marlyss Wagner both of Brockton, many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
Following Cremation, a Memorial Service will be held from the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Saturday August 22nd at 4:30 pm with the Rev. “Flathead” Tom Iddings of the Broken Chains Biker Church, Taunton officiating. Family receiving friends from 2 pm prior to services.
Due to the COVID-19 Massachusetts Phase 3 Guidelines the Funeral Home will be open to 40 percent occupancy, face masks are required and please practice social distancing. We are all in this together.
