John F. Manning, 50, of North Dighton passed away in his sleep peacefully early Sunday morning, August 9, 2020.
John was born on November 20, 1969 in Boston, MA. He graduated from Tri-County Technical High School in Franklin MA and held a certification in Cabinet Making. He joined the New England Regional Carpenters Union in 2000 as a Journeyman Carpenter and was very proud of his work on commercial and public projects such as Gillette Stadium, Dana Farber Medical facilities, Brayton Point, and later became a Construction Superintendent working on Data Centers in Boston. John most recently provided three years as a Business Representative for New England Carpenters Local 346 serving the southeastern Massachusetts area. He was very proud of his members and Union, always willing to help out his Brothers and Sisters, and promoted the Union in any way he could. John was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Church in N. Dighton, MA.
As a child John grew up in Medway and Franklin and enjoyed off roading and camping with his friends and family. John was a car enthusiast and enjoyed playing golf with his friends and sons. He was a huge New England Patriots fan and was very proud of being a part of the construction of Gillette Stadium, even at a time when people had little faith in the Patriots in 2001. Most of all, John loved his family, beloved wife Linda to whom he was happily married for 24 years and twin teenage sons Benjamin and Paul.
John is survived by his wife Linda M. Howard Manning and sons Paul and Benjamin Manning of North Dighton, parents of the late Paul Manning and Noreen Manning of Pawtucket, R.I., his sister Kimberly Manning of Pawtucket, RI, mother in law Grace Howard of North Dighton, father in law Bruce Howard and wife Shelley of San Antonio, TX, Godmother and Aunt Maryellen Buckley of Myrtle Beach, SC, Uncle William Lahar and the late Aunt Eileen of Wallkill, NY, brother in laws Ken Howard of Chelis, WA, Steve Howard and wife Karen of Fryeburg ME, Raymond Howard and wife Beth of Torrington, CT.
John also was very proud of his nephew Joseph Howard, nieces Sarah Howard, Rachel Howard, Leah Howard, and Aubrie Howard. He will be sadly missed by his cousins Brian Manning of Uxbridge, MA, Michael Buckley of Myrtle Beach, SC. and also, his cousins from New York State, Amanda Hansen, Chip Lahar, Kevin Lahar and Christopher Lahar.
His memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 24 in St. Mary’s Church , Franklin at 10:00. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
