BOSTON – Leonard Cabeceiras, age 61, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2020 at Boston Medical Center surrounded by loving family and friends. Born in Fall River on December 7, 1958, he was the son of Leonardo Cabeceiras and the late Irene (Gaspar) Cabeceiras. Len attended Diman Regional Vocational Tech High School in Fall River (Class of ‘76), then went on to Bristol Community College and later earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Southeastern Massachusetts University, now UMass Dartmouth (Class of ‘82). He held many professional titles through the years, including Senior Technical Recruiter, Director of Recruiting, and Talent Acquisition Manager.
Len was known for his kind heart and gentle soul. Growing up, he was an avid hockey player who showed his love for the sport both on and off the ice. He was known to many as an incredible athlete, not only mastering the sport of hockey but also skiing, running, and golfing. Len was a true Boston sports fan. He never missed a Patriots game on television and thoroughly enjoyed attending Bruins and Red Sox games. Len always had the best stories to tell, the funniest jokes to share, and the most perfect life advice to give. He took great pride in his family and close friendships, which he held close to his heart. His bright smile will forever be missed.
Leonard is survived by his father Leonardo Cabeceiras of Fall River, MA; daughter Leah Cabeceiras of Amesbury, MA; sister Mary Jo Mays and brother-in-law Wayne Mays of Somerset, MA; ex-wife Cheryl Rabenius Cabeceiras of Amesbury, MA; partner Pamela Walker of Wakefield, MA; and many loving nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
Following cremation, calling hours will take place at the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Friday, August 21 from 9:30-11:30 A.M. followed by a funeral Mass at Santo Christo Church at 12:00 P.M.
