Libero L. Rosato, of Somerville, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 11th at the age of 95. Born in Gaeta, Italy, he was the son of the late Erasmo and Elisabetta (Lisetta) Rosato.
Libero was the beloved husband of 68 years to Flora (Nardone) Rosato. He was the devoted father of Lisa Mitrano and her husband Erasmo "Ray" of Somerville. He was the loving Nonno of Marisa Bortlik and her husband Christopher, Damian J. Mitrano and his wife Elizabeth, Paul A. Mitrano and his wife Miranda, and Michael L. Mitrano and his wife Natasha, and the loving Big Nonno of Kayla, Jessica, Liliana, Sophia Bortlik, and Thomas, Anthony, Alexander, Adrianna, Christian and Henry Mitrano.
Libero loved to be with his family. He especially loved spending time with his four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, they kept him young and active. Libero's family was his pride and joy, they were his world. Libero was a dedicated husband, a loving father, the best grandfather and great-grandfather, a friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
Libero was a natural conversationalist, and had an opinion about everything. When he was not spending time with his family, you could find him in his garden. He had a natural green thumb—everything he planted flourished! He also loved making wine and hanging out with his friends at the mall. In his younger days, he was in the Italian Merchant Marines. He and Flora loved to travel and visit new places.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, August 18th from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford St., Somerville, at 10:00 AM.
