Shirley Jean Clark, 80, of Wilcox County, Georgia, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at home surrounded by her family.
Graveside services will be held 7PM, Friday, August 14, 2020, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilcox County, Georgia, with the Rev. Craig Barnette and the Rev. David Clark officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
Mrs. Clark was born February 28, 1940, in Pitts, Georgia, to the late Oscar & Jewel Baker Crenshaw. She graduated from Pitts High School in 1958 and played basketball, with her team winning the State Championship in 1955. Mrs. Clark was a floral designer for The Flower Cart in Tampa, Florida, The Holly House in Cordele and the Flower Nook in Fitzgerald. She was a very active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Wilcox County, where she served in the children’s ministry, GA’s, AWANA, the WMU and she sang in the choir.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Virgil Hugh Clark, Sr. of Wilcox County; children: Alisa Crenshaw & Sonny of Rochelle, Chip Clark of Brandon, Florida, Jimmy Clark & Lisa of Rochelle and Ricky Clark & Leslie of Abbeville; 15 grandchildren: Krissy Burnette & Daniel, Timothy Crenshaw & Lindsey, Tiffany Miller & Andrew Meyer, Dustin Clark & Lisset Wong, Cami Clark, Stacie Clark, Tyler Clark, Courtney Willard & Cal, Amber Clark & Austin McIntyre, Andrew Clark, Mary Howell, Lakeyn Howell, Tyler Carroll, Ashton Sumner and Aubree Clark; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bobby & Helen Crenshaw of Columbus, and two sisters: Lena Clark of Plant City, Florida and Teenie Brokamp & Joe of Pitts. The family also wishes to acknowledge the attentive care given by Angela Fortune, Linda Miller, Paula Mitchell and Missy McKinney.
