Jack Walker, 69, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, August 10, 2020, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Graveside memorial services will be held 10 AM, Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. The family will receive friends from 6PM until 8PM, Thursday evening, August 13, 2020, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Walker was born April 4, 1951, in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late John Henry Walker and the late Lucille Mitchell Walker Vann. He graduated from Fitzgerald High School and served his country honorably in the Georgia National Guard. Mr. Walker lived in the community all of his life and was a conductor for CSX Railroad for 30 years. He loved the outdoors and his dogs and he enjoyed spending time with friends and riding dirt roads. Mr. Walker was a member of Arbor Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter Brittani Elizabeth Walker Brown & Shema of Tifton and a son, Payton Daniel Walker & Tara Hopper of La Porte, Texas and their mother, Donna Ivemeyer Hair of Oakwood; a grandchild, Maya Hopper and two brothers: Wayne & Polly Walker of Marietta and Eddie & Kendra Walker of Monroe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Phil S. Walker and Mike Walker.
