Jerry W. Davis, 81, of Anderson died August 10, 2020 at his daughter's residence after an extended illness.
Jerry was born July 5, 1939 in Sparta, Tennessee, the son of Matthew and Rachel (McCann) Davis.
He was a meat cutter for Emge Meat Packing Company for 30 years before retiring in 1989, and janitor for St. Mary's Catholic School for 15 years.
He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church and F.O. P. Auxiliary. He loved to study his Bible, spending time with his family and carpentry work.
Jerry is survived by his four children, Diane (Don) Borror of Anderson; Joyce Ann (Tim) Stewart of Anderson; Steve (Roberta) Davis of Colfax and Ellen (Ernie) Hensley of Anderson; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene Davis of Florida and Carl (Guerry) Davis of Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings, Woodrow, Harold, Ruth, Inez and Linda and his companion, Glenda Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2020 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Gary Woodring officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday from noon until the service.
