SPRINGFIELD - James F. "Obie" O'Brien, 58, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Home on Sunday, August 2, 2020. He passed into Eternal Life in Brimfield surrounded by the beauty of nature that he enjoyed so greatly. He was born in Springfield on May 8, 1962, a beloved son of the late William F. and Margaret H. (Masko) O'Brien. He was raised in Springfield, graduated the former Springfield Technical High School and had lived in Springfield his entire life. He was employed as a custodian for many years with the Springfield School Department. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his three loving siblings, William M. "Michael" O'Brien of Harwich Port, Carol A. O'Brien and her companion, John Zawacki, of Westhampton and Edward F. O'Brien of Montgomery; his cherished niece and nephew, Keri Lynn Belmore and her husband, Jeff, of Holliston and Michael A. O'Brien of Andover; his cherished grand niece and grand nephew, Kayla and Jack Belmore; and his many dear extended family members and friends. His Funeral Services and Burial will be private.
