GILFORD ---- Roger Glen Slee, 76, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, August 2, 2020, at his home in Gilford, NH. He was a Vietnam veteran, a loving father, and a ray of sunshine wherever he went.
Roger lived for travel, particularly in his own RV, or on Royal Caribbean cruises. It would not be uncommon for members of the ship’s crew to recognize Roger from past trips - particularly the bar and restaurant staff. Life was just the time that passed between one cruise and the next for Roger. The Caribbean mourns the loss of one of its honorary citizens.
He loved the road and were it not for his failing health, Roger would likely be at an RV campground at this very moment. He traveled from New England to Florida, Los Angeles to Alaska, and everywhere in between.
Roger’s love of food, mainly dessert, was something he proudly passed on to his sons. The sight of his approach was enough to worry any restaurateur operating an all-you-can-eat buffet.
An avid music fan, Roger would often torture his children with older selections; from Ricky Nelson, Reba McEntire and countless others. His absolute favorite song all the way till the end was Travelin' Man by Ricky Nelson. He and Sharon were a regular sight at Meadowbrook and went to just about every show that they could.
Roger leaves behind his wife, Sharon-Anne, children and step-children John, Glen, Eric, Corey, Michael, Sharyn, Karen, and Linda, as well as countless grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, August 6, 2020, at 12:30 pm, at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH, 03303.
