James W. Murray of Brockton, MA. Passed away on July 21, 2020 from a long illness at the age of 68.
Jim was born in Weymouth and was the beloved son of the late James E. Murray and Gertrude (Ferguson) Backus. Also pre-deceased by his brother Wayne P. Murray. Jim is also lovingly survived by his devoted sister Linda G. LoPorto of Colorado and Abington, MA., nephew Shawn LoPorto of Weston, Florida, and a great nephew Tyler of Texas and great niece Kylie of South Carolina. Jim is also survived by many cousins, including Bob Murray, who was extremely helpful to him during his illness.
Jim grew up in Weymouth, where he attended local schools before he enlisted in the Army. Jim was also a talented drummer and played with various local bands. He will be fondly remembered for his pleasant manner, smiling face and jovial laugh. Jim was able to visit his sister Linda and nephew Shawn and family in Colorado and cherished that visit. He loved all his animals and last cat, “Yogi.“

Due to the Corona Virus, interment services will be private at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
