Helen A. (Cunha) Botelho, 68, of New Bedford died Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at home after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Victor Cunha and Alice (Sylvia) Soares, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was the proprietor of Helen's Haven, a child care center, for many years until her retirement.
Helen enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening and researching her family genealogy.
She is survived by six children, Charleen Ferland and her husband Scott, Chad Taylor and his wife Kerri, Lisa Napert and her husband Kevin, Denise Walsh and her husband Kevin, Richard Guilbeault, Jr. and his wife Ally, and Leslie DeCastro and her husband Tony; two sisters, Bernadette Roderiques and Antoinette Boucher; four brothers, Victor Cunha, Jr., Patrick Cunha, Timothy Cunha, and Chris Cunha; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; her best friend, Sandra Bellefeuille; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Richard Guilbeault, Sr.
Her Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday, August 2, 2020 from 1-4 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford.
