Gary M. Armstrong, 69, of Derry, NH, died Saturday July 25, 2020 in Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA after a lengthy illness. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 23, 1951, a son of the late John and Verna (Snitzer) Armstrong. Gary had been a resident of Derry since 1977. He had been employed Digital, HP, Compaq, 111 Village Square Restaurant and Hadco. He was a member of Calvary Bible Church in Derry. Gary was an avid NE sports fan and was able to watch the first game of the Red Sox season from Tufts. He enjoyed cribbage with the guys and listening to records with his vinyl group. We will miss Gary’s cooking and jokes. We’ll fill the birdfeeders, watch Jeopardy and pet our cat. We’re almost positive Gary’s already challenged the disciples to a game of cribbage.
He is survived by his wife Gloria (Cooper) Armstrong, his son, Griffin Armstrong, both of Derry; and his sister, Shirley Geibel of Butler, PA.
A memorial service will be held at the Calvary Bible Church in Derry, on Saturday August 8 at 11am. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Assoc., PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Derry is assisting with arrangements.
