Ronald P. Carroll, 87, of North Fort Myers, FL, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2020 at Cape Coral Hospital in Florida, following a period of declining health. He was the husband of Alice M. (Jabotte) Carroll, with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage. He was also the son of the late Alice J. (Gaucher) Carroll.
Born in New Bedford, where he lived most of his life raising his family. Later, moving to Florida and enjoying his retirement for the last 15 years.
Ronald was a decorated U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving as an interpreter and salvage diver.
He worked for and retired from Alden Corrugated Container after 45 years of employment. He also worked at the Wonder Bowl for many years.
His surviving family includes his wife; 2 sons: Eugene and his wife Edna of Westport and Dale and his wife Debra of Dartmouth; 2 daughters: Cynthia Carroll and Laurene Pittsley of New Bedford; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 brother in laws: William and Robert Jabotte of Cape Coral, FL; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at the Kirby Funeral Home at 12:30 P.M.
Visitation will be from 11:00AM-12:30 P.M. prior to the service.
