Shawn Chislom was born on December 2, 1964 to the late Ernest and Dorothy Chislom. The youngest of seven children; Shawn was a miracle baby, as he was a late-in-life gift to his parents. Due to the large age gap; Shawn's sister, Beverly was instrumental in raising him and took on the role of his second mother. As such, Shawn shared a sibling camaraderie with Beverly's children; Scottie, Joelle and Todd.
In 1985, Shawn graduated from Foxboro High School. After graduating, Shawn earned a certificate in computer programming from the Computer Learning Center. Upon completion, he was quickly hired by Blue Cross Blue Shield where he was employed for five years. Shawn eventually found his second home as a hard drive technician at Fidelity Investments where he worked for over twenty-six years until his early retirement. Shawn was a dedicated and well-respected employee, mentor and friend to all his colleagues. Shawn enjoyed the leisure retirement afforded him but returned to work part-time as a security guard at Madison Security until he became ill.

Those who knew Shawn, can undeniably attest that he was: a fiercely devoted husband and father; a beloved son, brother, and friend. Shawn ensured his family experienced important things in life in ordinary ways and daily deeds from learning the states using coins with his son, RaiShoun, sharing his love of cars with his sons, Davon to exhibiting the attributes of; loyalty, humility and responsibility to his daughter, Brandi. Shawn instilled the values of hard work, perseverance, love-of-self, and family to his children as daily practice.
Shawn was good natured, a kid at heart and a car enthusiast. His passion for cars was instilled by his father and brother, Clarence. Shawn amassed a large Mustang/Shelby car collection and frequented car shows. In fact, if it involved cars Shawn was down for the cause. Need help finding a car? Test driving a car? Need a stripe on your car? Shawn was the go-to-man and a self-proclaimed expert in all things automotive. Shawn readily shared and built the same lasting memories with his children and grandchildren.
Shawn also enjoyed martial arts since childhood, which further forged his bond with his trainer and brother, Charles. Shawn initially practiced Northern Shaolin and later moved to kickboxing. In marital arts, he learned discipline, perseverance and always to take the high road and be the bigger person.
