Mary Catherine (Magee) O’Leary, 86, of Medway, died Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at her home. She was the wife of Dr. Richard J. O’Leary who had predeceased her, in 1987.
Born in Canton on December 9, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Isabel M. (Davenport) Magee.
Mary grew up in Canton, attended secondary school at Mt. Trinity Academy in Watertown, graduated Emmanuel College, and later earned a Master’s Degree in Education.
She was a teacher for Medway Public Schools for over 50 years.
Mary was an active communicant of St. Joseph Church and served the town for many years, both as a Selectman and on the Board of the Medway Housing Authority.
She is survived by: Sean O’Leary and his wife, Laura, of Dallas, Texas; Erin O’Leary of Boston; Kevin O’Leary and his wife, Melinda, of Washington D.C.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson; her brother, James Magee, her sister, Claire McCoy, both of Canton; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph Magee, of Norwood.
Her funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway on Tuesday, November 17 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway. Please follow all required Covid-19 guidelines, including face coverings and social distancing.
