Betty Jo (Gunnels) Marriott, 83, of Anderson died, July 16, 2020 at St. Vincent Anderson after a brief illness.
She was born July 26, 1936, in Allons, Tennessee, the daughter of Howard and Vesta (Vann) Gunnels.
Betty worked as manager of S.P.D. at St. John's Hospital from October 24, 1968 until October of 1992.. She enjoyed traveling, going to rummage sales and the casino. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, James Ronald "Ron" Marriott, whom she married June 18, 1977; three children, Ronald (Reva) Savage of Mt. Juliet, TN; Rick Savage of Philippines; Shelia Walker of Anderson; stepdaughter, Robin Boyd (companion, David Gross) of Anderson; brother, Billy Joe "BJ" Gunnels of Anderson; brother-in-law, Stewart (Norma) Marriott of Pendleton; sister-in-law, LaVona (Bud) Urwin of Savannah, NY; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Robert Allen Savage; daughter, Linda Faye Smith; stepson, Terry Lee Marriott; and a grandson, Brian Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Jim Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
