Victor E. Kasica, 57, passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2020, Independence Day, following a motorcycle accident in Waterford, Vermont. Victor lived life to the fullest and at the time of his death was doing what he loved best: Spending time with lifelong friends in the great outdoors, enjoying the wind in his face and the freedom of the open road, his partner Deanna Jean Murphy behind him for the ride. Deanna also perished in the accident.
Although his life was short, Victor left all of us with a blueprint for good living: Work hard, love deep, and dream big.
He was born in Boston July 23, 1962 to the late Theodore E. Kasica and the late Margaret G. Kasica Clairmont. He was raised in Brockton and is a graduate of Southeastern Regional Technical Vocational High School, South Easton, class of 1980. He was known for his love of machines and motors, the bigger the better, and was always the smartest guy in the room. He had an intuitive knowledge for how things worked and could fix anything.
For most of his life he worked as an electrician, at one time owning his own electrical business in Brockton. He was also the owner and president of National Screenprinting Services, Inc. Most recently he worked as Facilities Team Leader at Southcoast Hospitals Group in New Bedford.
Victor was fearless, and often said, “I’m not afraid of dying. I’m afraid of not living.” He was a private pilot and an avid sportsman. He enjoyed scuba diving, windsurfing, and cycling. He participated in Tough Mudder events and Spartan races. He recently moved to New Hampshire, a lifelong dream, and enjoyed working on his house and property, cruising over the snow on his snowmobile, and camping and hiking with friends. He loved music and DJing for parties, even if he was the only one there.
Victor was a caring and generous soul who will be remembered for his kindness and unselfishness to family and friends who needed support during difficult times.
He is survived by his sister Marianne Kasica Sciucco and her husband Lou of Middletown, NY; brother Jeffrey M. Kasica of Braintree; and brother Kenneth G. Kasica and partner Margaret Labate of Carver. He is also survived by his nieces: Allison Sciucco Walsh of Minot, ND; and Katerina, Alexa, and Victoria Kasica of Ware. He leaves behind many beloved cousins and dozens of good friends.
Memorial services will be private.
