John M. Kennedy, Jr., 81, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Dr. Fred Evers and the Rev. Marshall Kennedy officiating. Mr. Kennedy will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Born December 31, 1938 in Tift County, Mr. Kennedy was the son of the late J. Marvin Kennedy, Sr. and Annie Frances Lane Kennedy. Before retiring, he worked at Tift Regional Medical Center for 15 years. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Tifton and he enjoyed talking with people and never met a stranger. He liked watching Gunsmoke, working word-find puzzles, traveling and relaxing at home.
Mr. Kennedy is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Cooper Kennedy of Tifton; one son, Thomas I. Kennedy of Tifton; and one brother and sister-in-law, Marshall A. and Janell Kennedy of Tifton..
