MILDRED (GALLA) STIFFLER OBITUARY
Mildred (Galla) Stiffler, 89, of Altoona, PA (formerly of Patton) died on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Altoona, PA.
The daughter of Mike and Mary (Zeanchock) Galla, she was born on April 22, 1931 in Marsteller, PA.
Mildred married Rev. Lester “Wayne” Stiffler on July 1, 1950 and they shared over 69 years of marriage together.
She worked at Laurel Crest Manor in Ebensburg, PA as a nurse’s aide.
Mildred was a member in good standing at the Evangelical Wesleyan Church based in Cooperstown, PA. She was a dedicated Pastor’s wife for decades. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to do evangelism work with the Cree First Nation in Quebec, Canada.
She is survived by her son: Mark W. Stiffler of Patton, PA and her sister: Mary Louise Senko of Patton, PA.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Rev. Lester “Wayne” Stiffler on March 2, 2020 and her three brothers: Mike Galla, Jr.; George Galla and John Galla.
Family and friends will be received from 7-9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2020 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd., 18944 Rte 286 Hwy E, Hillsdale, Indiana Co., PA. Visitation will continue on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Pleasant View Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church, 106 Fern St., Cherry Tree, PA from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., the time of the 11:00 a.m. funeral service, with Rev. D.D. Snedeker, Sr. and Rev. D.D. Snedeker, Jr. officiating. Interment to follow at the Union Cemetery in Hastings, PA.
