Thomas Thurman Smith, 79, of Omega passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Smith at 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2020, at Omega Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Rickey Wells will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Cannington, Eddie Walden, Jack Bankston, Greg House, Donald Smith, Jr. and Randy Smith.
Born January 31, 1941 in Berrien County, Mr. Smith was the son of the late John Marvin Smith and Verlie Pitts Smith. He was also preceded in death by one son, Thomas Teddy Smith; two brothers, William Eugene Smith and Frankie “Buck” Smith; and one sister, Frances Napier. He retired from Patrick Tractor Company and attended Omega Church of God. He also served in the Georgia National Guard.
Mr. Smith is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Rick Bromlow of Omega; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Betty Smith of Omega; one sister, Scivienell Edenfield of Tifton; a sister-in-law, Betty Smith of Enigma; three grandchildren, Cory Bromlow and his wife, Shelley, Breanna Smith and Tarran Smith; four great-grandchildren, Jim Bromlow, Kendrick Atkinson, Kyrie Smith and Abbey Parks; and several nieces and nephews.
