Obituary

Matthew S. Newnan, 6, of Chester NH, died February 22, 2006, at his home after a long illness.

He was born on March 16, 1999, and was the son of Scott and Erin(Nucci) Newnan. He was a communicant of St. Paul,s Church of Candia.

Matthew was a student at the Chester Academy.

Matthew was funny and kind, smart and loving, and he was deaf. Matthew was fun to play with. Matthew was good at counting, learning and making people laugh. Matthew liked to play computer, watch movies, play with his sisters, sing, dance and laugh. Matthew was a healer. He never failed to bring everyone into the activity he was doing. Blue’s Clues and That’s So Raven were some of Matthew’s favorite shows. He liked Playhouse Disney, especially the Doodlebops. Matthew loved to “knock you over” when playing with Daddy and Mommy. He liked to nap on “Daddy’s bed”. He gave the greatest hugs and kisses. He gave “squeezy” hugs. Pizza, apples, popcorn, bacon, bagels, potato chips and “pink” were his favorite foods. He wanted to be the first one to hug Daddy when he got home from work. Matthew learned how to cook with his sister, Jessica (or ‘Jecca’ as he called her). He liked to sign his prayers using sign language at night with his family and give hugs and kisses to his sisters before they went to bed. He learned to say the Our Father in sign language and received his first communion with his sister, Samantha (or ‘Mantha’ as he called her). His friends included his family, his teachers, his priest, his caregivers, the firefighters and many more. Matthew was strong. He cared about his family and gave them all he could, a fighter until the end.

Family members include his parents of Chester; 2 sisters, Jessica and Samantha Newnan of Chester; his grandparents, John and Jane(Blank) Nucci, of Chester, Bruce and Diane(Wyman)MacLeod, of Windham; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated, Monday February 27, 2006 in St. Peter’s Church, 567 Manchester Rd, Auburn.

Burial took place in the Spring in Great Hill Cemetery in Chester.
