Obituary

ROCHALSKI, ANNA (CZABAN) age, 78, died peacefully with her family at her side on July 1, 2020 at her home in Dorchester, MA after her courageous battle with Inclusion Body Myositis, a form of Muscular Dystrophy.

Born in a small village in Eastern Poland in 1941, Anna grew up as an only child, on a farm in Rowek during World War II and later communist-occupied Poland. She married in 1961 and came to America with her husband and her two children, Maria and Antoni, in 1966. They first lived in the North End and eventually settled in Dorchester, Massachusetts, where she ultimately passed.

Anna enjoyed visiting her relatives in her homeland of Poland every opportunity she was able. She was an avid reader and loved passing the time with her crossword puzzles. She also loved gardening and spending time in her yard before she was diagnosed with the debilitating myositis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mikolaj and Helena Czaban, her husband of 45 years, Czeslaw Rochalski and her son, John Rochalski. Anna is survived by Maria T. Rochalska, and her two children Lukasz Dorosz and Justin Dorosz; by her son Antoni Rochalski and his daughters, Carolyn Rochalski and Kayla Rochalski; her late son John’s wife, Arlene Rochalski; and her daughter Christine (Rochalski) Fitzgerald, her husband Robert Fitzgerald and their son Cole Fitzgerald.

All who knew Anna, knew she was a quiet and caring person who cared for the wellbeing of her family more than anything and devoted her entire life to her children. She will forever be in their hearts and greatly missed but grateful she is no longer suffering and at peace with God.

Private funeral services will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery for immediate family. A Mass of intention in Anna’s memory will be held on what would have been her 79th birthday on at 8:30 am. On August 29, 2020 at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in South Boston. Anyone wishing to attend is welcome to do so.

The Family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for condolences and sympathy, comforting words, prayers and all expressions of kindness and concern.
