Charles "Bud" Lewis Stiffler, 82, of Anderson died unexpectedly at his residence.
He was born April 25, 1938, the son of Charles Ulmer and Mary P. (Stone) Stiffler.
He served in United States Marines and was an Airborne Ranger Paratrooper.
He worked production at Guide Lamp Division of General Motors for 32 years.
He was a member of Anderson Road Runners. He was an avid runner and a member of Ft. Wayne Track Club. He competed in a total of 37 Indianapolis Mini Marathons plus did numerous other marathons. He attended High Street United Methodist Church in Muncie. He loved animals and outdoors.
He is survived by: his two sons, Daniel (husband, Steven) Stiffler of Indianapolis and David Stiffler of Anderson; his sister-in-law, Naomi Stiffler; mother of his children, Kookie Kay Stiffler of Muncie.
He was preceded in death by his father; mother, his adopted parents, Dwight & Nettie Stiffler; brother, Andy Stiffler.
