Obituary

Randy Clayton Scott, age 62, passed away on July 2, 2020, surrounded by his loving family, after a long courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Born December 21, 1957, Randy was the son of Russell and Gladys (Myers) Scott of Chesterfield.
He was a 1976 graduate of Highland High School and has been a loyal Scot fan since. While at Highland Randy was part of both the baseball and football teams. He continued his love/support for the Scots as part of the coaching staff for their softball team from 2002-2010.
Randy was offered a baseball scholarship to Huntington University but chose to attend Ball State University before choosing to work for and take over Scott’s Lawn Service with his father, who owned and operated the business for 45 years.
Randy loved and played many sports! His friends could come up with countless stories of and with him on the golf course, at the bowling alley or at a random pick up basketball game but Randy’s true passion was softball.
Randy played slow pitch softball for several years before picking up fast pitch in 1982. He made so many memories and made so many friends playing fast pitch softball until his final season in 2006.
He started coaching girls softball in 1994 at Chesterfield Little League and continued coaching until 2014. He coached Chesterfield/Riverfield Little League, The Indiana Rage, The Indy Attack, The Crush, Highland High School and helped with Liberty Christian’s high school softball team as well.
Randy is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Katie Nicole (Scott) and Lance Blossom, his granddaughter, Greenleigh Blossom, his former wife, Kim Murphy, the loving Murphy and Clark families, several nieces and nephews, including special nieces Leigh Murphy and Lena Bobbitt.
Randy never met a stranger and had too many friends to count but he is leaving behind special friends, Dan Russell, Kent Odom, Joe Brandon, Jim Eldridge and Dan Forst.
Preceding him in death are his loving parents, Russell and Gladys (Myers) Scott and several aunts and uncles.
The family would like to thank St Vincent Hospice and Chesterfield Millers Merry Manor for all the exceptional care you provided. We would also like to thank Pete and Mark for being such great friends and company to Randy during his time at Miller’s Merry Manor.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 2nd from 3-6pm at his daughter and son-in-law’s residence, which was Randy’s home for 28 years.
