Obituary

Anne L. (Ste. Marie) Doyle, 77, of Fairhaven passed away peacefully with loved ones at her side on Tuesday June 30, 2020 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late, great “Smiling Irishman” Daniel L. Doyle.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Mary Irene (Breault) Ste. Marie, she was a graduate of Holy Family High School, Framingham Union Hospital School of Nursing, and Salve Regina University.

Anne worked as a Registered Nurse for many years and in many capacities at Framingham Union Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital, Frances P. Memorial Hospital, Parkwood Hospital, Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Rhode Island Hospital, Southcoast VNA and Brandon Woods before retiring in 2007. Anne had a passion for nursing, was exceptional at her craft and will always be remembered as a kind and compassionate caregiver by all her patients, family and friends.

Anne adored her family and was a loving daughter, wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, mother & nana. She faced great adversity in life after a tragic accident in 1995 left her husband of 30 years a quadriplegic. Anne relied on her nursing skills, her faith, St. Jude and especially the love and help of family to see her through. Then sadly, in recent years she faced a multitude of her own medical issues which she fought with dignity and grace and will forever be an inspiration to all who knew her.

Anne was an avid sports fan and loved all New England sports!! She especially enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play over the years as well as her nine-time World Champion, Boston Red Sox and six-time Super Bowl Champion, New England Patriots!!! Anne had a green thumb and loved taking care of her plants. Above all, she was happiest when spending time with family and blessed to have so many special memories of holiday gatherings and all the wonderful times spent at Wigwam Beach.

Survivors include her five children, Mary (Connolly) Seander and her husband Michael of Cranston, Rhode Island, Kathleen Doyle Botelho and her husband Kelly of Fairhaven, Daniel P. Doyle of Fairhaven, Karen Doyle Bart and her husband, Aaron of Marion and Timothy E. Doyle also of Marion; her siblings, Jeanne (Ste. Marie) Rayno and her husband, Bob of Westport, Joseph Edward Ste.
