Angelia Moore, 79, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, June 29, 2020, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Sunday, July 5, 2020, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Robert Couey officiating.
Miss Moore was born September 17, 1940, in Fitzgerald Georgia, to the late Bill & Mildred Thompson Moore. She earned her Bachler’s Degree, then later her Masters and her Doctorate Degrees from the University of Georgia. Miss Moore taught high school in Titusville, Florida and was a Professor at The University of Georgia and Georgia Southwestern University, where she taught English and Creative Writing. She was a writer herself, having penned many short stories. She loved her cats, was an avid reader and a devoted Georgia Bulldog fan. Miss Moore collected stamps and coins as well as signed and first edition books. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
She is survived by several cousins as well as her “adopted family”: Patsy Cook of Fitzgerald; Patsy’s son, Ashley Cook of Fitzgerald; Patsy’s grandchildren: Kristin Cook Rountree & Kayla, Elizabeth Cook Quinn, Lauren Davis Luke & Travis, James Robert Davis and Rob Cook & Sequoia and Patsy’s three great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Grace Davis, Evan Rountree and Atlas Quinn.
