Arthur Pryor, 76, of Tifton died Thursday, February 23, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006 at the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Calvin Bobo will officiate. Burial with full Masonic rites will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery in Savannah. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, February 24, 2006 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson. Deacons of Eastside Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Pryor was born on February 9, 1929 in Newington, GA. He was the son of Leo John Pryor and Iris Pearl Beach Pryor, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by a sister. He was retired as the general manager of Union Camp Corporation. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served as a paratrooper and was also a Mason and had lived in Tifton for 28 years.
Mr. Prior is survived by his wife, Reba Joyce Strickland Pryor of Tifton; his two sons, Arthur Cary Pryor of Tallahassee, FL and Philip M. Pryor of Tallahassee, FL; two daughters, Janna E. Lee of Tifton and Diane Cleland of Savannah; three grandchildren, Christopher Lee, Joyce Wertz and April Bryant; and two great grandchildren, Austin Lee and Elizabeth Wertz.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Eastside Baptist Church Building Fund.
