David W. Saunders, age 63, of Woburn, passed away on June 28, 2020 surrounded by his family from complications of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). He was the beloved husband of Maryanne (Vaughan) Saunders, his wife of 44 years.
Born in Winchester, David was the son of the late Charles F. and Louise (Jones) Saunders. He was raised in Burlington and was a graduate of Burlington High School. He was employed as a Facilities Coordinator for Sentry Insurance in Concord and Westford for over 29 years, and most recently at New England Carpenters Benefit Funds in Wilmington.
David is remembered by his family as kind, quiet and easy-going. In his spare time, he enjoyed deep-sea fishing, puttering in the yard and traveling. He had visited the British Iles and particularly liked Ireland and Scotland, where he got a kick out of the furry Highland cows.
In addition to his wife, Maryanne Saunders, David leaves behind his son Brandon Saunders and his wife Kelly of Westford, two sisters: Judith DesRuisseaux and her husband Robert, and Barbara Hooper and her husband Richard, all of Nashua, NH, along with many nieces and nephews.
