Dorothy (Honey/Dot) Mabel (Tripp) Baker, age 93, passed away on June 25, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 26, 1927 in Granville the youngest daughter of the late Robert and Mabel (Hansen) Tripp. She grew up working in the family business of spending summers scooping wild blueberries. Dorothy worked as a home health aide and waitress in both Massachusetts and Connecticut for many years. Dorothy was a lovely person and greatly loved by all. She is survived by her husband, Paul D. Baker, of Chicopee, her daughter, Susan Whyte-Lemke of Maynard MA, and her son, David Whyte of Central Point OR. She also has four stepchildren Andrea Humason of Westfield, Jennifer Phillips of East Hartford CT, Suzanne Baker of Chicopee and Zachary Baker of Shutesbury along with seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Dot (Honey) was an accomplished hunter, fisher and all-around outdoors person. She traveled a great deal and was always ready for adventure. Aunt Honey also left behind many nieces and nephews with whom she was very close. The family wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to the outstanding nurses and aides from Bay State Home Health and Western Mass Elder Care. All services will be private. Burial will be held in the Granville Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care, 3350 Main Street, Springfield, MA 01107.
