Lorraine M. (Pimental) Thys, lifelong resident of Medford, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 28th. She was 78. Born and raised in Medford, she was the cherished daughter of the late Harold and Florence (DiGloria) Pimental.
Lorraine loved to travel with her loving husband Jim by her side; they enjoyed frequent trips to Phoenix, exploring New England and all its hidden wonders, summers at her 2nd home in Sanbornton, NH, and visiting Jim’s family in Belgium, which was her all-time favorite spot to visit. When Lorraine was not traveling, she enjoyed knitting. She personally made, with much love, a blanket for everyone in her family. An avid doll collector she had an extensive assortment of dolls which she gathered throughout her life. Lorraine’s biggest passion was spending time with her husband, family and friends. She was a loving wife, caring sister, dedicated aunt and a great friend.
Lorraine was the beloved wife of 53 years to Jim Thys of Medford. She was the dear sister of Carol Paone, of Wakefield, MaryJean DeAngelis, and her late husband Steve, Elaine Nadile and her husband Joseph of Plymouth, and the late Francis Pimental, and his late wife Phyllis. She is also survived by many loving god-children, nieces and nephews, family and friends.
On behalf of Lorraine’s family, visiting hours will be private. A graveside service will be conducted at Oak Grove Cemetery, 230 Playstead Rd., Medford, on Thursday, July 2nd at 2 PM.
