Joan Katherine Duren Sirmans, 66, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020, at Magnolia Manor in Moultrie. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Omega Church of God with the Rev. Rickey Wells officiating. Mrs. Sirmans will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.
Josh Moore, Blake Moore, Will Brown, Gary Sirmans, Shaw Dent and George Dent will serve as pallbearers.
Born August 19, 1953 in Ocala, Florida, Mrs. Sirmans was the daughter of the late Loy Duren and Mildred Aultman Duren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Richard “Ricky” Sirmans, who passed away in 2012. She was retired as a seamstress at Burlen Corporation and she was a member of Omega Church of God.
Mrs. Sirmans is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew Verman and Melissa Sirmans of Baxley and Dusty Dewayne and Kimberly Sirmans of Adel; a daughter-in-law, Evangeline Sirmans; two brothers, Freddy Duren and Ryan Duren, both of Adel; two sisters, Brenda Castleberry of Moultrie and Tammy Moore of Adel; four grandsons, Cody Sirmans, Jacob Sirmans, Seth Sirmans and Alvin Sirmans; and her best friend and care-giver, Peggy Blackburn.
