Mary "Mickey" Frances (Smyth) Flynn, 91, of Clinton, formerly of Franklin, died
June 20 in the University of Massachusetts Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Charles Flynn who died 1983.
Born in Dorchester, December 13,1928, the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Hinchey) Smyth, Mrs. Flynn was raised in Dorchester and had lived in Franklin while raising her family. She then lived in Foxboro and Mattapoisett before coming to Clinton.
Mary had attended Dean Junior College and had been a secretary at Wrentham Developmental Center for many years.
She had been a volunteer at Blackstone Valley Family Counseling Center for several years.
Mary enjoyed time with her family in Mattapoisett. She also enjoyed reading, antiquing, poetry and art.
She is survived by her children, John F. Flynn and his wife Linda of Fairhaven, Charles F. Flynn and his wife Sherrie of Rutland, Timothy F. Flynn and his wife Wenyue Bai of Medway, Dennis F. Flynn of Clinton, Doreen F. Flynn and her partner Jane Patterson of Clinton and James F. Flynn and his wife Marisa of Rochester.
She was the sister of the late James Hinchey, Dorothy Hinchey and Josephine Kazan.
She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Joseph, Emalie, Sean, Connor, Ryan, Erin, Mara and Daniel
Her funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 26 in St. Mary’s Church Franklin at 10:00.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
