Joao J. DeAndrade Barros (60) of Brockton died June 18th tragically in the city. He was the husband of Olivia Cabral DeAndrade Barros of Brockton.
He was born in Sao Filipe, Fogo, Cabo Verde, son of Idilia Andrade of Portugal and the late Inacio Silva Barros. Joao was a communicant of St. Edith Stein Church and loved cooking, helping others in the community and was known as a hard worker.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by a daughter Larissa Barros-Bernard of Brockton, 2 sisters, Helena Cabral Andrade and Sandra Andrade both of Portugal, 5 brothers, Augusto Andrade Mendes Teixeira, Joao Andrade, David Andrade, Agnelo Andrade Goncalves and Rui Andrade all of Cabo Verde, (brother of the late Aldino Andrade), many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral Services from the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Friday June 26th at 10 am. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery, 88 N Pearl Street Brockton. Visitation from 8 am prior to services. Due to the COVID-19 Massachusetts Phase 2 Guidelines the Funeral Home will be open to 40 percent occupancy, face masks are required and please practice social distancing. We are all in this together.
