Mattie Osteen Moore, 99, of Irwinville, Georgia, died Sunday, June 21, 2020, at Lanier Manor in Jacksonville, Florida.
Private graveside services will be held.
Mrs. Moore was born December 21, 1920, in Coffee County, Georgia, to the late Bryant Franklin Osteen & Maggie Jane Williams Osteen. She lived in the community all of her life and was a homemaker and a farmer. Mrs. Moore loved her family and was an avid reader, especially her Bible. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery during her younger years. She also drove until she was 97 years old. Mrs. Moore was a member of Irwinville Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons: Jimmy Ray Moore of Rome, New York and Joe & Donna Moore of Callahan, Florida; daughters-in-law: Johnnie Lee Fordyce of Brevard, North Carolina and Brenda Moore of Wray; son-in-law, George Donnell of Charleston, South Carolina; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Chapman Moore; three sons, Clyde V. Moore, Wilbur Darrell “Drib” Moore, and Johnny Moore, Sr.; a daughter, Ann Moore Donnell; two grandchildren: Jennifer Ann “Jenny” Moore and Darrell Eugene Moore and 10 brothers and sisters.
