BILLERICA – Janet Marie (Snow) Colburn, L.P.N., age 86, died peacefully in the loving care of her family and hospice in her Billerica home on Friday morning, June 19. She was the beloved wife of Robert William Colburn, with whom she had celebrated a forty-first wedding anniversary this past October 28.
She was born in Cambridge, one of five daughters of Jessie Mann (Duncan) and Elmer Snow, and raised in Cambridge. At the age of nine, upon the death of her mother, she was raised by New England Home for Little Wanderers. She met and married Robert in 1978, and had lived in Billerica for the past 41 years.
She had worked as a Mental Health Nurse at McLean Hospital in Belmont.
She was known for making family Christmas memorable each and every year, and for her abundant “thank you” notes, hand-written for even the smallest of kindnesses. In her earlier years, she was an avid bowler at the Wakefield Lanes. She was an active member of the Community Congregational Church in Billerica.
Besides her husband, she leaves seven children, Randy and Marilyn Lembo of Methuen, Marie and Woodrow Myers of Billerica, Paul and Maryellen Lembo of Lynn, MA, Alan Newton of Hudson, NH, Kathleen and Gilbert Dusombre of Haverhill, Deborah and Rayond Stuberg of Murrietta, CA, Jean Colburn of San Diego, CA; a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Lembo of Iowa; two sisters, Patricia and Joseph Lavacchia of Woburn, Helen Willis of FL; fourteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildrem; and was predeceased by her sons, Salvatore Lembo and William Lembo; and sisters, Marilyn Green and Gladys Lembo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Memorial Service at Fox Hill Cemetery in Billerica WILL BE HELD, WEDNESDAY, JULY 15, at 12:30 P.M.
