Alice (Ferreira) Dallaire-O’Neill, 96, died at home unexpectedly on June 14, 2020.
She was the wife of Hubert J. O'Neill and the late Raymond Dallaire.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Felizardo and Belmira (Raposa) Ferreira, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Alice was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Kinyon-Campbell Business School in New Bedford. She worked as a secretary in an accounting office for most of her career.
Alice was an avid reader; having read thousands of books in her lifetime. She also loved Masterpiece Theatre on PBS and symphony music.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Raymond G. Dallaire, Jr., and his wife Rachel I. Dallaire of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Lena Gates and her husband Raymond of Maryland and Hilda DeMello and her husband Joseph of Florida; 3 grandchildren, Dennis G. Dallaire, Jr, Rae A. Dallaire, and Rochelle L. (Dallaire) Bettencourt and her husband George, all of New Bedford; a great-grandchild, Devin R. Andrade from New Bedford; several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Dennis G. Dallaire, Sr. and sister of the late Lydia Lemay.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 18th at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, with visitation prior from 10 - 11 AM. Burial will be private. All attendees are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
