Barbara A. (Nardone) Collins, a 60 year resident of South Boston and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at The Boston Medical Center in Boston. She was 82 years of age.
Barbara was born in Boston on September 27, 1937, a daughter of the late Joseph Nardone and Frances (Stevens) Nardone. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated throughout the Boston Public School system. Barbara worked at Gillette Razor Company in South Boston as a Payroll Supervisor and retired following 35 years of dedicated employment. She enjoyed being a "snowbird" and traveling to Venice, Florida during the winter months and would spend her summers at Totem Pole Park in Ossipee, New Hampshire. She enjoyed shopping in her spare time and never forgot her Charlestown roots. Most important in Barbara's life was her family and she cherished the quality moments spent with her son and his family and her siblings.
Barbara is the beloved wife of the late William F. Collins Jr. She is the devoted mother of William J. Collins and his wife Stacy. She is the loving Nana to Ashleigh Collins. She is the beloved sister of Dorothea Nardone, Robert Nardone, Frances Doherty and the late Mary Stearns, John Nardone and Joseph Nardone. She is the loving sister-in-law of Mary Adams. She is also survived by her many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Barbara's Graveside Service on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 (BUNKER HILL DAY) at 11 A.M. at Blue Hills Cemetery, 700 West St. Braintree. (Please meet at cemetery office at 10:45 A.M.).
