Obituary

Glenda Maria Wilson McCann-McNair, 72, of Ashburn passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, Alabama.

Glenda was born in Dothan, Alabama to the late William Glen and Bertha Marie Chancy Wilson on October 11, 1947. She was a retired Home Economist for Turner County and the owner of Bancorp Finance. She was a member of the Turner County Historical Committee. She was also a member of the Ashburn First United Methodist Church.

MaMac was loved by so many but more importantly she loved so many more. She was a mother and encourager to so many young people in Turner County through her work with 4-H as well as countless friends of Tracy and Julie's that were always welcomed in her home. Saturday afternoons during the fall you could count on her being in front of her TV with her Auburn beanie rooting her Tigers onto victory. She never wavered in her support. She was a self-less compassionate soul. Her love for Christ was always apparent in the way she put others before herself. She was a true listener and always had the right words to say in a tender way that left you feeling not only her love but the true love of God as well. She was a loving compassionate woman that will be missed.

She is survived by her husband, Joe McNair of Ashburn; daughters, Tracy (Danny Edwards) McCann St. Amant of Ashburn and Julie (Pete) McCann North of Tifton; brother, Micky (Louise) Wilson of Fairhope, Alabama; grandchildren, Chase St. Amant of Ashburn and Alex North of Tifton. She is also survived by her extended family, Mona (Keith) Cawley of Tifton, Allien (Bill Schoepski) McNair of Rome, Amanda C. (Hunter) Daughtrey of Tifton and Trent (Elise) Cawley of Tifton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, William F. (Mac) McCann.

The family will greet friends at Glenda's home, 546 Alda Street, Ashburn, Georgia 31714 Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Due to government restrictions, a private family only graveside service will be held.
