George T. Dolan II of Londonderry, NH died June 7th surrounded by his loving family after complications from the coronavirus. He was living at All American Assisted Living in Londonderry for the past few years.
George was born in Waltham, MA on September 9, 1929, the son of George and Katherine Dolan. He was a graduate of Waltham High School and began working for Raytheon as a young man where he permanently stayed moving through the company in various positions for forty years.
George was married for 59 years to Gertrude Dolan who preceded him in death in 2009. George and Gert had many adventures beginning their married life in West Newton, MA then raising their family in Burlington, MA moving on then to Hollis, NH and adding a summer home in Meredith, NH. When retirement arrived George & Gert added another new address for the winter months living in Vero Beach, FL then returning every summer to their beloved home in Meredith, NH.
George was the devoted father of his loving daughter Peggy Marino of Waltham, MA and loving son and daughter in law Tom and Kate Dolan of Londonderry, NH. George also leaves his four treasured grandchildren and their spouses Dr. James and Tracie Marino of Southern Pines, NC, Michael and Jenn Marino of Norfolk, MA, Jason and Andrea Cozzi-Beeck Dolan of Scituate, MA, Kristin and Walt Auten of Litchfield, NH as well as his seven great grandchildren Cooper, Lila, Ella, Parker, Grayson, Lucia and Max who brought him such joy especially during the family fun Dolan Labor Day weekends at the Meredith lake house. George is survived by his dear sister Catherine of Cocoa, FL along with many nieces and nephews and was predeceased by his older sister Dorothy Locke.
George will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great “Grampy” who loved and lived life to the fullest, whether he was golfing, boating on Lake Winnipesaukee, playing cards at the Londonderry Senior Center, working for the LA Dodgers baseball organization in retirement or enjoying happy hour in assisted living he always had that mischievous smile ready for fun with his friends and family.
The Dolan family would like to express a special thank you to all the caretakers at the All American Assisted Living that took such loving care of George in the last few years but most especially as he began his quiet journey to the end of his life.
Due to these difficult times in Covid-19 arrangements are private with a graveside service for only family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Parish Food Pantry, 435 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH 03053. The Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium is assisting family with arrangements.
