Obituary

James A. Machado, 72, of East Freetown passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2020. He was happily married to C. Terri (Rodericks) Machado. They would have been married for 53 very loving and happy years on July 1st.

Jim was born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Lemos) Machado.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Jim had been employed as a Senior Estimator for the past 18 years for Poyant Signs, located in The New Bedford Industrial Park, which he considered his second home.

Jim and Terri traveled to Myrtle Beach for over fifteen years. Everyone was encouraged to join in the fun. Jim couldn't wait to have his family and friends around him. Golf was an activity he loved. Jim also enjoyed sitting on the beach with his wife, holding hands and watching his young granddaughters playing in the tide pools while the older kids were riding the waves on those crazy banana boats.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Terri, their children Pamela Ann Rego and her husband Daniel and his son Trevor of Dartmouth, son James Michael (Jayme) Machado and his partner Melissa Alves and their daughter Krissa Lyn Machado of East Freetown, his granddaughters Kassie Lynn Rodrigues and her fiancé Jason Lussier and their children Jaxon Anthony, twins Mila Rae and Maddon James Lussier, all of Fairhaven, and Rachel Ann (Rodrigues) Brooks and her husband Scott and their son Thomas James Brooks of Dartmouth. Jim will be missed and forever in our hearts. Jim also leaves his brother Edward Machado and his wife Kay of Venice, FL and Osterville, and his sister-in-law, Claire I. Machado of New Bedford, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary, his brother Joseph, Jr., his sister Mary and her husband Gilbert Ferreira, his brother Carl, and his brother, friend, and mentor, Paul Machado, all of New Bedford, and his sister-in-law Blanche Machado of Cape Cod.

Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings, his funeral services will be private. For online guestbook, visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
