Gertrude M. Languirand) St. Pierre,93, of Salem, passed away peacefully at Penacook Place in Haverhill on Wednesday, May 29, 2020. She was the wife of the late Lucien “Duke” St. Pierre with whom she had shared 39 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Julie Rose (Beaudet) Languirand. Following her marriage to Lucien she devoted her life to the care and the raising of their family. Together, they looked forward to their weekly family camping trips, up north, with her brothers, sisters and their families. Meme was a terrific cook and unbelievable daily baker. In addition to fun time with family, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, excitable card games and Word-search. As the family progressed with their schooling, she began working part time for the former Dexter Furriers in Salem.
She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish on the Salem Peabody line.
She is survived by her daughters, Corine L. Ouellette and her husband Laurent of Salem, Sheryl St. Pierre-Lobao of Salem, Paula M. Vistorino and her husband John J, of Newburyport, her sons, Ronald W. St. Pierre and his wife Rhonda of Groveland, Bruce T. St. Pierre and his wife Diane of Haverhill, a brother, Gerard Languirand of New Hampshire and brother-in-law Roger Moore, Jr. of Salisbury, She also leaves fifteen loving grandchildren and their spouses, twenty-four great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Philippe Languirand & sisters, Theresa Marchand and Claire Moore.
