FALL RIVER - Ronald Benevides, age 77, a longtime resident of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Ron was the beloved husband of Elaine (Margarida) Benevides and the son of the late Joseph & Edith (Tavares) Benevides.
Prior to retiring, Ron worked for National Grid as a stock man. But his true passion was being an Associate Pastor at the Community Christ Church in Tiverton, where he loved to share his devotion and spread the word of Christ.
In addition to his loving wife, Ron is survived by his two daughters: Stacy J. Harrington (husband Brian) and Christine A. Howarth (husband Albert); his grandson: Jarad Harrington; siblings: David Benevides of Onset, Robert Benevides of Beacon Falls, CT, and Nancy Medeiros of FL; many nieces & nephews. Ron was predeceased by his brothers: Steven & William Benevides, and Delores Larabee.
