Roy Andrew Ferrell, Sr., 79, of Tifton passed away Friday, June 5, 2020, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Josh Campbell and the Rev. Billy Wilkes officiating. Mr. Ferrell will be laid to rest at Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery.
Tyler Ferrell, Glenn Hickman, Dewayne Cleveland, Corey Ferrell, Andy Ferrell, Troy Callahan and Matthew Fralick will serve as pallbearers.
Born November 7, 1940 in Seco, Kentucky, Mr. Ferrell was the son of the late Stephen Harry Ferrell and Joan Cundiff Ferrell. He was also preceded in death by one son, Roy Ken Ferrell; two brothers, James Ferrell and Wilson Fowler; and one sister, Rita Stone. He was the owner and Drywall Superintendent of Ferrell Drywall and had worked for 50 years in drywall, hanging and finishing. He served six years in the United States Army. He enjoyed drag racing and old cars and was president of the South Georgia Mopar Club for several years. He also enjoyed attending auctions and he loved his family and his church.
Mr. Ferrell is survived by his wife, Gearldean Ferrell of Tifton; his children and their spouses, Larry David Kensinger of Marshfield, Missouri, Andrea Kay and Gary Rogers of Mount Vernon, Missouri, Ricky and Laura Peters of Brunswick, Ken Peters, Bernice Rogers, Roy Andrew Jr. and Stephanie Ferrell, and William Harry and Tina Ferrell, all of Tifton, and Monique and Rick Jackson of Ashburn; his siblings, Bobby Ferrell and Mattie Sarro, both of Brunswick and Samantha Minton of Okeechobee, Florida; 22 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
