Hiram - Charlotte E. Avanzato, 78, died peacefully at her home in Hiram on June 2, 2020 with family by her side. She was born in Norway, Maine on October 3, 1941, eldest daughter of Ernest and Marjorie (Tibbetts) Westleigh. She grew up in West Bethel, attended local schools, and was a graduate of Gould Academy.
Charlotte worked in the textile industry most of her life and retired after working over 20 years at the Kezar Falls Woolen Mill. She enjoyed farming a great deal and had a strong love for animals. Everyone that knew her knew she loved PIGS. Other hobbies included going dancing with her husband of 57 years, and camping with her brothers. She enjoyed many crafts, especially knitting with her close friend Delia Carter. Above all she loved spending time with her large family. Family gatherings and special occasions were most important to her, especially when her many grandchildren and great grandchildren were around.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband, Ronald Avanzato, a granddaughter, Christie L. Avanzato, 4 brothers, Dale, Trafton, Eugene and Raymond, and 2 sisters, Bethany and Lorena.
Surviving are 5 children: Gale Crawford and husband Ronald of Frenchville, Paula Rivard and husband Peter of Hiram, David Avanzato of Idaho, Anthony Avanzato of Idaho, and Lura Sawyer and husband Greg of South Hiram. 7 siblings: Lenora Conger and husband Kevin, Richard Westleigh and wife Linda, Sam Westleigh and wife Sally, Lydia Lavallee and husband Chuck, Roxanne Fields, Zane Westleigh and Heidi Mailman. 13 grandchildren: Aleta, Ronald, Tiffani, Ernest, Jessica, Lisa, Alexander, Christopher, Brittani, Anthony Jr., David, Haiden and McGwire. 14 great grandchildren: Karina, Kylee, Kyle, Tyler, Lily, Liana, Eliza, Ethan, Jaden, Kailynn, Brooklyn, Tyler, Ronald and Warren. Also one great-great grandson, Nico, as well as a large extended family.
