Karen (Blakeman) Stevens of Rockland, MA died Saturday May 30, 2020 at the age of 62, after a short battle with cancer, by her husband's side.
Raised in Whitman, MA, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. Blakeman Jr. and Priscilla (Little) Oxenford.
Karen was an avid animal lover and of all things nature. If she wasn't inside you could find her mowing the lawn, planting flowers, or feeding the many birds that came through her yard. Her summers were filled with trips to Plymouth and the Cape to see the ocean, and there was always a pit-stop for ice cream. She loved spending time with her grandson and even took him on his first trip to the beach. Her family meant the world to her. She had dreams to retire in Florida where she could see the palm trees whenever she wanted.
She is survived by her loving husband Robert, son Derek King, daughter Jessalyn Obert and her husband Derek, grandchildren Damien and Travis Obert, brother Harry and his wife Mary, sister Rosalyn Dumont and her husband David, brother Richard Blakeman and his wife Barbara, brother John Blakeman, father-in-law William Stevens, brother-in-law Mark Stevens, sister-in-law Kimberly Choate and her husband Matthew, nieces Katrina, Rachael, and Alyssa, nephews Jason and Ryan, and grandnieces Isabelle, Penelope, and Addison. She will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ASPCA
